Re the 9th July conference, it is a pity this clashes with the Climate Coalition mass lobby at Westminster which looks like it will be attended by a large number of climate activists (and hopefully many scientists aiming to convince ministers to give up the CCS and nuclear ambitions for a more rational decarbonisation pathway.

I will probably come to Manchester myself and as London is a stretch, and I will spread the word.

To comment would be “ frivolous “ Nige , is a successful stockbroker and we in Wales are as thick as the proverbial pig excrement ??? Why do people think that wealthy people like Nige and Richard Tice sit in parliament laughing at our government if not to maintain the status quo ?

From the initial launch of HyWind floating offshore wind demonstrator which has proven itself the upscaling to full production has yet to gain traction anywhere in the world. AR6 has one potential production windfarm (Greenvolt) but despite having all consents its yet to enter into full scale construction. So its debatable whether these jobs will ever materialise and not before 2029 at this rate and at what ASP is it going to take. Personally it would be far better to maximise fixed offshore currently where there is far more certainty and less risk.

Anyhow Farages diatribe is just plain nonsense and surely Welsh people can see that hes taking them for fools.

I hear what you say, but it if solar pv, onshore wind, offshore wind had been discounted on the basis that they were too immature technologies, they would never have developed to where they are today. I think there’s plenty of possibilities for cost reductions, perhaps with radical new designs. See some commentary at Floating wind can power UK to net zero and lots of UK jobs! https://davidtoke.substack.com/p/floating-wind-could-power-uk-to-net
